SUMMARY:RHFC - Cadet Tour
DESCRIPTION:The Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada are the Infantry Regiment that shares the building with us. \nWe will be joined by cadets from the other local cadet units\, including 80 Sqn Kitchener\, 1596 Army Kitchener\, 530 Sqn Waterloo\, 94 Sea KW\,  822 Air Breslau\, and 21 Army Cambridge. \nWho – the tour is intended for any cadet 16 years of age and at least the rank of Sgt\nWhen – 7 December 2023\, 1945-2145;\nDress – FTU w Beret.\n\nThis tour will specifically introduce these senior cadets to the many opportunities and trades within the regiment.\n\nHere is the calendar of events for the evening:

DESCRIPTION:Note – entrance is at SIDE OF SCHOOL closest to portables.  ( right side if facing school from road/ sidewalk) \n  \nCome out and play sports!   Basketball\, some volleyball or dodgeball. \n\nBring a water bottle.\nNon marking running shoes.\nSports clothes ( no uniforms)\nYour valid and up to date health card.\n\n  \n1830h to 2100h. \n  \nNEW Location for Friday Sports \n  \nSt Elizabeth School \n50 Adler Drive\, Cambridge \n(Adler Drive is in Hespeler\, and is off of Cooper and Ellis) \n

SUMMARY:Fill an Army Truck - Food Drive
DESCRIPTION:We have been asked to provide some senior cadets to assist with the FILL AN ARMY TRUCK Event along with our friends at the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada. \n  \n  \nFor 10 years\, the RHFC has collected food to help the community with their Stuff an Army Truck Campaign.    Started by their Padre Capt Neil Thomsen\, CD – it has brought in significant donations of food to the community to help fill the shelves of support systems during the darkest\, coldest nights of the year. \nThis was the first year 296 Sqn has been able to help with the event. \n  \nTiming – arrive 0845h at location if shift one\, NLT 1230h if shift 2. \n2 shifts available. \nEnd  at 1530h. \n  \nDress – FTU w Beret. \nExpect weather dependent to wear blue parka\, Toque and black gloves. \nCadets can expect to be outside for a great deal of their shift. \nCadets must be the rank of Sergeant or higher to participate in this event. \n  \nLocation – we will be in Kitchener\, as the SOBEYs on Fisher Hallman Road\, near the crossroad with Westmount. \n( Map below).   Address is SOBEYS\, 1187 Fischer-Hallman Rd\, Kitchener \n  \nA copy of the schedule for the day can be found here; \n  \nhttps://www.296aircadets.com/fill-an-army-truck-food-drive-event/ \n  \n  \n  \nThanks to the cadets whom have signed up.  Your participation is appreciated. \n  \n  \n  \n  \nEAS STUFF AN ARMY TRUCK 2023 \n  \nFood will go to the food bank of Waterloo Region\, and the Cambridge Food Bank. \n  \n \n  \n

SUMMARY:Christmas Market Teardown - City Hall
DESCRIPTION:296 Cadets will help tear down the Christmas market  – putting city hall tables and chairs back in place at the end of the Christmas Market. \n  \n  \n12 Volunteers needed. \n  \nDress – civilian clothing appropriate for moving tables / chairs. \nLocation – Cambridge City Hall – 50 Dickson street Cambridge \nCadets will meet near main stairs. \n  \nCounts as community service hours. \nCadets will be dismissed as soon as the cleanup is complete. \n  \n
