SUMMARY:Cambridge Santa Claus Parade
DESCRIPTION:Open for full details: \n  \nStart – Cadets will meet at 1715 h at the PUBLIC WORKS YARD behind FarmBoy.   ( you can walk there via gate 100m behind Farm boy\, or via Vehicle by Bishop Street) \nEnd – we will stop at the corner near Langs and Industrial.  We will not walk back to the start point.  Cadets will be dismissed from here. \nParade steps off at 1800h.  We expect to dismiss at approx 1900h – though depending on speed of parade – this is subject to a great deal of change. \nExpect delays via vehicle due to road closures.  Road blocks will go up at 1700h approx. \nSuggest parents and cadets make plan to drop off / pick up at agreed too point.  Cadets are welcome to call parents from staff phones at dismissal point.       Make somewhere the cadet can walk too to meet parent – like Burger King or Harveys.  Or parents can meet us at parade end point. \nDress – Band: Highland kit w Parka.  Festive hats encouraged.   Tinsel / lights on drums / Pipes ( that do not impede playing) would be Ok. \nOther cadets – Uniform w parka.   Cadets may wear cadet issue toque OR festive hats.   Most of you will be holding provincial flags – so ensue you have gloves. \nRecruits – Dress warm.  Jacket.   Festive hat or regular toque.  Gloves.  Warm footwear. \nParade Plan:  \nAll provincial flags will be carried by members of squadron in uniform\, along with band playing.   Again Festive hats encouraged. \nRecruits will carry squadron banner\, and hold Giant Canadian Flag. \nPictures of past event here; https://www.flickr.com/photos/94953058@N07/albums/72157676836851805 \nPic of where we meet\, and where dismissal point is ( along with road closures) below.

DESCRIPTION:Vigil \nCadets who signed up for the vigil will be staying overnight at the Church.  These cadets are in L2 and up.   ( NO recruits) \nBring sleeping bag\, PJ\,s\, pillow\, mattress and toiletries. \nCadets will be rotating on shifts overnight at cenotaph guards.     When not on\, they will have time to rest and have food. \nWeather is to be VERY cold.  Bring layers to wear – long johns\,  black gloves.  ( Gloves that can actually grip the drill rifle. – black leather gloves recommended.  ) \nAll cadets on vigil guard will be in regular uniform – no highland kit. \nIn the morning\, all cadets attending will be fed breakfast\, and their gear moved to the Armoury.    It can be picked up at the conclusion of the parade.

DESCRIPTION:This Sunday we will be participating in the Ayr Remembrance Parade.  It is held the Sunday Prior to Remembrance Day each year.      We have arranged for a bus to transport from the Armoury to the site\, or you can travel direct there and meet us. \nMeeting location  is the Armoury at 1215h..  Bus will depart at 1230h \nMeeting location in Ayr is at the end of Manley Street near Ayr Public School. \nParade will step off at approx 1330h\, for brief march to Ayr Cenotaph. \nFollowing end of parade\, we will dismiss .  Cadets taking bus will return direct to Armoury. \nDress – C1.   Jackets / Parka’s required – rain is expected.   Band in Highland Kit. \nRecruits – Recruit uniform ( white shirt / dark pants) and as conservative a jacket / coat as you can find.   ( Preferably no emblems or team jackets\, but if its all you have – wear it.)  Rain is probable – it is a rain or shine event.

SUMMARY:Poppy Drive
DESCRIPTION:This Saturday we will be supporting the Legion Poppy Campaign.    Two shifts will be avaialble for cadets\, who will meet at the GALT legion.   We’ll depart from there to locations throughout Cambridge to greet people and help the legion with the Poppy Drive. \n30 cadets are needed for each shift.  We’ll also need parent drivers. \nShift one – 0800-1200h \nLunch – 1200-1300h \nShift two – 1300h-1600h. \nTime at this event will count as High School volunteer hours.   Recruits are welcome to attend this event\, and will be partnered with older cadets at the sites throughout the city. \nCadets will be in uniform. \nDress – C1.   Jackets / Parka’s required – rain is expected.      Recruits – Recruit uniform ( white shirt / dark pants) and as conservative a jacket / coat as you can find.   ( Preferably no emblems or team jackets\, but if its all you have – wear it.)  Rain is probable – it is a rain or shine event.
