Hundreds of thousands of Canadians have been cadets. The leadership, problem solving, & experiences benefit these young people – making them valuable and capable in the world.
Cadets is not easy. It’s working on your own time on your uniform. It’s studying, preparing lessons, learning drill movement, completing community service. Its a challenge.
What it offers is the opportunity. To make new friends, to have adventures from summer training to camping trips with us. To be part of a team. to better yourself, to learn new skills. Nothing great in the world is easy..

Cadets
If you’ve made it to this page then you’re probably looking for a challenge; something to bring out what you’re really capable of. Volunteers
If you’re aged over 19 you can volunteer. That’s it. No need for military experience or any form of previous training – we’ll take care of that. We’re just looking for suitable, enthusiastic individuals to help our cadets get the most from their time with us. The benefits of being a part 296 Air Cadet Squadron is the same for volunteers as for cadets – the opportunity to do lots of exciting activities and develop personal skills and talents.
