296 CITY OF CAMBRIDGE PIPES AND DRUM BAND

The Cadet Music Program at 296 City of Cambridge Squadron involves instruction in theory, performance, sight-reading and instrument maintenance. The music program consists of six levels: Basic to Level 5. Our Pipe & Drum Band builds esprit de corps by performing in many community events including parades and concerts. Basic and Levels 1 and 2 teach cadets to play in the cadet corps/squadron band for parades and local activities such as Remembrance Day. Levels 3, 4 and 5 further increase individual skills and develop the ability to teach junior cadets.

Band Comp Trophy

296 City of Cambridge Squadron was the first Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron in Canada to develope a pipe and drum band shortly after it’s charter in 1943.  The band program at 296 has produced over 14 western area and regional (provincial) 1st place titles.

Bagpipes are one of the world’s most loved instruments. To hear the skirl of the pipes coming out of the mist on a frosty morning is to know one of the true joys of living.

The 296 squadron music program is proud to be affiliated and sponsored in part by  The Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada through the Regimental Senate and the Paris Port Dover Pipe Band.
